The Black-backed Woodpecker I have gotten almost ten times and I even got an American Three-Toed Woodpecker once during a southern irruption. I am just slightly south of the American Three-Toed Woodpecker's range in North Bay, Ontario. The only other southern irruptions I have experienced is Great Grey Owl and Snowy Owl. The only species that occur truly north of me are ptarmigans.
