May 25 (Day 145) - Baseball blues and no connection

Hey all, it's Sonia again. I just spoke with Dorian and he is so upset and distraught by the 10th straight Red Sox loss that he couldn't stomach writing his blog tonight. To add insult to injury, Josh Beckett (aka Mr. Popeyes Fried Chicken) threw a no-hitter against the Phillies. What is going on in the baseball world?! Needless to say, Dorian will spend the evening curled up in the fetal position drowning his sorrows at the bottom of a Pepto bottle in order to make the pain go away.

Ok, the actual truth is he doesn't have internet access again tonight, so the updated post will have to wait until tomorrow. He is safe and well in Patagonia where he is enjoying the peace of his surroundings. For those who have birded this area, you might recognize the below spot. It's of the famous roadside picnic table in Patagonia, where Dorian spent a good amount of time birding today. Consider this a teaser for the blog update tomorrow.

Side note: Anyone watching playoff hockey??? HOW 'BOUT THEM KINGS! I think Dorian has mentioned it the past, but in case you don't know, I am originally from Los Angeles and I am a HUGE Kings fan. They are currently in the Western Conference Finals and lead the series 2-1 against the Chicago Blackhawks. Two more wins and they'll be on their way to the Stanley Cup Finals for the 2nd time in 3 years (after winning the Cup in 2012). This is one of the perks of Dorian not having internet connection... he has zero control over what I post! Heh-heh-heh.

Be scared Blackhawks fans!

...Very scared

I should also point out that about a month ago Dorian and I made a wager when the Kings played the Flyers (his team) in the regular season. As expected, the Kings won which meant that Dorian lost our bet and had to make an embarrassing video. I now share this for your own enjoyment.

Ok, I have sabotaged his blog enough for one evening. Stay tuned for a real update tomorrow once Dorian is connected to the world wide web once again. Till then.... GO KINGS GO!

  1. Nice Blog! Dorian has a tough act to follow later today.

  2. And the season is even stranger: not only did Beckett pitch a no-hitter, last year he apparently decided that Tommy John Surgery is for wimps... and had a rib surgically removed. A frickin' rib!

  3. Sonia, your posts just keep getting better and better...this one is terrific! Typically I catch up on Dorian's GBY once a week or so; it's a real treat when there's a guest appearance!
